Trump Blames Europe For “A Large Number” Of U.S. Coronavirus Infections

Insists U.S. is not in the midst of a “financial crisis” despite huge market plunge

Update: Trump said people and cargo are going to be banned from entering the U.S. from Europe with few exceptions, but apparently that’s not the case: it does not apply to cargo, nor U.S. citizens, nor is the U.K. the only country that’s exempt. In fact, there’s been a fair amount of confusion because what Trump said differs substantially from the President’s written “Proclamation” put out simultaneously by the White House. And in almost all cases so far, the guidance media is getting from the White House is the written version is what’s accurate, not what Trump said. If this changes, we’ll update again here.

Most of the reporting we’ve seen about Trump’s address tonight to the nation about Coronavirus (long overdue in our opinion), is along the lines of “Trump is finally taking the Coronavirus threat here seriously”. And sure he is in the sense that he’s no longer insisting it’s just 15 cases that will go away soon. And his ban on travel from Continental Europe for 30 days, which apparently includes both people and cargo, may very well turn out to be a good move.
